Stirling Prize Shortlist

It gives us great pleasure to announce that, for the first time in our 60 year history, we find ourselves on the Shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize 2016 for the City of Glasgow College Riverside Campus.

This exciting nomination is the culmination of many years of hard work by the design team, from the tender stage through to completion of the campus last August.

It is an honour to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award, one which rarely comes north of the border. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the hard work put in by the architectural joint venture between ourselves and Reiach and Hall along with interior designers Graven, contracting team of Sir Robert McAlpine and FES, engineers Arup and Hulley & Kirkwood and landscape architects Rankin Fraser.

Special mention, of course, to the College itself, for working with us in such a positive and enthusiastic manner in order to provide world class facilities for their students, an approach that has been appreciated by the design team as a whole.

We are all very proud of The Riverside Campus and are delighted that the judges have seen to shortlist it for the Stirling Prize – confirmation, we feel, that the building continues to exceed everyone’s expectations.

The award winner is to be announced on 6th October 2016 at a ceremony to be televised by the BBC at the RIBA headquarters in London, and you can watch a video and vote for Riverside here; http://bbc.in/2cGLBmQ
