Having originally received planning permission in 2015, Belford Road started on site in 2022. The project redevelops two inefficient and inflexible office buildings to create a dynamic, high quality and modern residential development that reflects and complements the rich and historic surrounding context, both in terms of use of materials and its disciplined approach to street and façade.

Whilst the 1980’s Belford House has been demolished for full replacement, the original Douglas House to the west of the site, built in 1898 as one of the first car showrooms in Scotland, has been retained and integrated into the development.
