Michael Laird have been commissioned to complete the restoration of the mansion is part of a development project for a world class Golf Resort, Hotel and Spa, complete with a Jack Nicklaus signature course.
The mansion was principally between the years 1785 and 1812. Extended in a similar style in the 1880s, it has been ruinous since 1968 when the roof was stripped to avoid taxation. A fine example of Robert Adam’s Castle Style, the architecture rivals that of neighbour, Culzean. It has been Category A listed, with its surrounding court and stable block, since 1971.
