St Mark's Quay Housing, Fountainbridge
This application is a development from the previous scheme which retains the residential block to the south of the site but now provides student accommodation to the North. The Blocks are seen as a ‘Gateway’ to Fountainbridge with a central landscaped route connecting West Tollcross with Lochrin Basin.
The Buildings are brick clad (complementing the adjacent affordable housing completed in 2010) with expressed white precast floor plates and framing to gable elevations to provide focal points from the canal and Tollcross.
The initial estimation is to have the Student Accommodation ready for the academic year beginning September 2013, with the residential block to follow after.
