Spectrum House, Glasgow
Spectrum House is a speculative office development in central Glasgow, built in the 60’s and refurbished in the early to mid 1990s. Although fairly recently upgraded, the finishes were somewhat outdated, and MLA were asked to provide some ideas to freshen up the building to make it more appealing to prospective occupiers.
After a competitive tender process, MLA were selected to progress the scheme to planning. Our proposals keep the main external shell and office plates but refit the main entrance, reception, stairwells and cores, creating a much more dynamic, up to date and inspirational workplace. Timber and natural hues have been used extensively throughout the reception and stairwell giving a warm, timeless appeal whilst the main entrance has been opened up to allow more natural light to flood into the reception area.
